In this help and information video. You will learn how to log into the email address that is created for all Sun West students. With this email address, you have access to software like Teams, Microsoft Word, and the Adobe CC products.


Step 01: Access your Sun West email and password

If you don't know your Sun West email and/or password, please contact your teacher and request that you have this information sent to you.


Your Sun West email will be your first initial + . + the first 5 letters of your last name+ sunwestsd.ca. For example, for a student named John Smithson, their Sun West email will be j.smith@sunwestsd.ca


Step 02: Enter your username

go to https://outlook.office.com

and enter your Sun West email. Click "next" when you're done


Step 03: Enter your password

Enter your password then click "sign in"


Step 04: Change your password

for the current password, enter the password you were sent. 

Then, enter a new password.


Step 04: Set up MFA

If you haven't set up Multi-factor Authentication (MFA), you may be prompted to do so. Attached to this tutorial is 2 documents showing you how to set up MFA. There are two ways do this: via SMS or via the authenticator app.


Step 05: 

Once you have logged in, you will be sent to the outlook app which is where all email sent to your Sun West account will be found.
